Commodore is a naval rank, the equivalent of which is used by the service organizations of many civilizations. ==Use in Starfleet== [[Image:R-A-1.png|left]] In Starfleet the rank of Commodore is the most junior flag officer, under [[Rear Admiral]] but senior to a [[Captain]] and is the equivalent to the rank of [[Brigadier General]] in the Star Fleet Marine Core. Commodores command groups of ships, as opposed to [[Captain|Captains]] who usually command single ships or units. In fleet structures like [[Bravo Fleet]] Commodores can be found serving as Task Group Commanding Officers all the way to the position of Task Force Executive Officer. The rank of Commodore is also considered to be a stepping stone to higher positions and ranks within the fleet. [[Category:Ranks|Commodore]]
