Brigadier General

Brigadier General is a military rank, the equivalent of which is used by the service organizations of many civilizations.

Use in Starfleet

The rank of Brigadier General is the flag officer rank used by Starfleet's Marine Core. The rank is equivalent to the Star Fleet Rank of Commodore.

In the Marine Corp Brigadier General typically serves as Deputy Commander to the Commanding General of a division or division-sized units and assists in overseeing the planning and coordination of a divisions mission. In an Brigade not attached to a Division, a Brigadier General serves as the unit's commander, while a Colonel serves as deputy commander.
