Nikola enjoys both listening to and playing music in her spare time, she is talented musician who can play a number of instruments but her specialities lie with the piano and violin both of which she has been playing since childhood. She is an active member of the Pacifica's band where she plays the violin and is also a member of the Pacifica's chess club.

History
Nikola was born in the small town of Visby on the Swedish island of Gotland to parents Ivar and Annemette Haider. She grew up in a loving family with two older brothers Karl and Mikael who were both very over protective of her as she grew up much to her own annoyance. She developed a keen love for music at a young age, as she grew up listening to music played by both her mother and father who were noted musicians. Her love of music turned serious when she began playing the piano at the age of eight and she eventually moved to playing the violin like her mother. By the age of 15 Nikola had a unique understanding of music and had the potential to become an excellent musician in her own right and a solid composer as well if she chose to. Instead she decided to follow her older brother Karl into Starfleet as she was seeking to discover herself and to fulfil an empty hole in her life.
Without the grades to warrant selection at Star Fleet Academy, Nikola entered the fleet as an enlisted officer at the age of 18. After completing her initial training Nikola was assigned to the Strategic Operations Department at Star Fleet Headquarters where she worked as a data analyst under the supervision of her Department CO. Nikola started to show a lot of promise, as she quickly developed an ability to be decipher coding seeing this potential her Department CO at Strategic Operations managed to get her transferred to a position at the Starfleet Intelligence branch on Earth where she received advanced training in the fields of Cryptography that lasted for two years.
Upon the completion of her training Nikola continued to work out of the Starfleet Intelligence branch on Earth until just after her 25th birthday, when she was hand picked for a ship bound assignment on the USS Pacifica by Lieutenant Akaris Venn. She has been serving on the Pacifica ever since in the role of Crypto-analysis Specialist under the command of Lieutenant Venn.
