Joint Post by Connie Morgan & Daniel Butterworth

--Butterworth's and Morgan's Quarters USS Pacifica--

Connie paused for a second and studied her reflection closely in the mirror. She was getting herself ready to meet her fiancee who was down in Holodeck 3. Connie wasn't quite sure what was exactly going on, as she had arrived home a while ago to find a message from Daniel telling her to meet him in the holodeck at 1800 hours. It was funny thing for her to receive, as Daniel didn't usually do things like that as he was normally very open and a straightforward type of person. In their entire time together she had never once received a message from him requesting a mysterious rendezvous in the holodeck. It made for a pleasant change and had aroused a certain level of excitement surrounding what was waiting for her in the holodeck.

The Pacifica's Chief Medical Officer continued to study her reflection in the small mirror before she finally pushed her long dark brown hair back over her shoulders. She had taken some time to dress herself up for her trip to the holodeck. Nothing overly fancy just a red evening dress as she didn't quite know what to expect. Knowing Daniel as she knew him Connie knew that she could quite easily walk into a cricket simulation. She unfastened the necklace from around her neck that held her engagement ring and slid it off of the thin silver chain and put it back onto her finger. Once she was done Connie took one more look in the mirror then headed for the door.

--Holodeck 3 USS Pacifica--

Butterworth had arrived in the holodeck a while ago to make sure that everything was perfect. He had went to great lengths to put this night together as he had promised Connie last week that they would spend some time together before the wedding. With the Pacifica arriving at Earth in the morning Butterworth knew that this was nearly the last opportunity he had to keep that promise he had made with her. For that reason he wanted the night to be as perfect as possible, it had been so long since they had last been able to spend any quality time with each other and he wanted to do his best to make up for it.

He leaned down beside the blanket that he had laid out over the grass and finished unpacking the contents from the picnic basket that he had brought with him. Once he had finished unpacking everything Butterworth lifted his gaze up from the basket and glanced out at the wonderful view, the scene was exactly the same as it had been all those years ago on that one night.

--Deck 8 USS Pacifica--

Connie stepped off of the turbolift onto Deck 8 of the USS Pacifica. She took a quick look around the corridor as she started to make her way down to Holodeck 3, with anticipation slowly building inside her with each step. Arriving outside the large doors to Holodeck 3 Connie came to a stop and looked at the closed doors trying to picture what was waiting inside for her. Slowly she stepped up to the holodeck control panel, which came to life when her finger touched the smooth panel. Connie studied the panel to see that whatever program Daniel had set up was already in use, meaning that he was probably inside waiting for. She pressed a couple of buttons on the panel before stepping across to the closed doors of holodeck 3.

Computer: Enter when ready.

Connie waited with bated breath as the doors of the holodeck slid open before to reveal a very familiar setting, the Cascade Gardens in her home state of Tasmania. At first she couldn't believe what she was seeing and ended up just staring in through the open door frame at what laid before. A small smile slowly spread across her face as she took her first steps into the holodeck. The doors closed behind her sealing her in a memory from her past and disappeared to be replaced by a crowded BBQ area. The gardens were exactly as she remembered them in every detail, it was night time but the gardens were fully alight under a haze of flood light and the sounds of music and laughter could be heard in the distance. Her smile continued to grow as her own memories of the night came flooding back to the forefront of her thoughts.

She remembered everything so clearly this was the place where she had first met Daniel all those years ago. They had both been cadets at the time and it had been a chance encounter at it's best, but it turned in to so much more since then. This was where it had all began. Connie looked around at the beautiful surroundings taking in every site as she looked for fiancee who was nowhere to be seen. She started to wonder about where he was hiding when it suddenly came to her. Letting out a quick laugh Connie quickly gathered her bearings and started off alone the path, sticking with it as it snaked it's way up a near by hill. It had been a long time since Connie has last been here but she knew where she was going off by heart.

Arriving at the top of the hill Connie looked across at a line of trees that obscured the view of the city of Hobart. She walked across to the trees and quickly found the gap she was looking for and slowly made her way though to the other side. Stepping out of the thick tree line she was greeted by the beautiful view of Hobart that was so intertwined with her heart and standing there to greet her in their special place was the love of her life.

Daniel: ;;smiling;; Hi.

Connie stood there shaking her head at a complete loss for what to say, no words could explain how she was feeling at the moment. She took a couple of slow steps towards Daniel, before breaking out into run throwing her arms around him around him in a warm tight hug nearly knocking him off of his feet. He wrapped his arms around her waist as she rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes, she felt like she was going to cry.

Daniel: Well what do you think?

Connie: It's beautiful

She looked up into Daniel's eye and shook her head, she couldn't believe that he had went to all this trouble just for her.

Connie: I can't believe you went to so much trouble.

Daniel: ;;smiles;; It was worth it just to see that look on your face. It reminds me so much of when I first showed you this place.

Connie: It's exactly as I remember it.

She continued to stare up into Daniel's brown eyes, encasing this moment in her heart for an eternity before she closed her eyes and kissed him.
